Privacy policy

This policy explains how Arihaan Data Services LLC ("Arihaan", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Arihaan People API, its MCP server, the Arihaan People apps for ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants, and this portal (the "Service"). It also explains how we handle the business contact records in our index. By using the Service you agree to this policy and our Terms of use at https://people.arihaan.ai/terms.

1. What we collect from customers

• Account: the name and email on the Google account you sign in with, your plan, limits and contact-data approval, and which version of our terms you accepted and when.
• Requests and results: everything sent to the Service with your account, keys or connected apps (searches, filters, parameters), and the results we return.
• Technical data: time, IP address, device and browser details, the key or app used, and response details.
• Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or forms.
• Billing: if you pay, your billing details and invoices. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.
• Credentials: API keys and tokens are stored only as one-way hashes.

Apps such as ChatGPT or Claude decide what to send to our tools, usually just search filters. We receive and may record whatever they send. Do not put sensitive personal information into requests.

2. How we use it

To run, secure and support the Service; to enforce limits and bill; to monitor, review and analyze requests and results; to detect and stop fraud and abuse; to improve the Service and build new products, including training and testing software and models; to contact you about your account and our products (you can opt out of marketing); to defend or pursue legal claims; and to comply with law and enforce our terms. We do not sell customers’ account data.

3. People in our index

The index holds business contact records about professionals: name, job title, employer, industry, location and, for some people, a work email, phone number and professional profile link. We collect them from public and business sources and from data partners, not from the people themselves. We compile and index these records; we do not verify every one and are not responsible for their accuracy. Real emails, phone numbers and profile links are shown only to customers we approve for contact data; everyone else sees a shortened name.

We provide these records to customers for business purposes such as sales, recruiting and research. Some laws treat that as selling or sharing personal information. If you are in the index, you can ask to see your record, correct it, delete it, or opt out of it being provided to customers, by emailing ashwin@arihaan.ai with the name and work email or profile link on the record. We act on requests within the time your law requires (at most 45 days), and keep a minimal suppression entry so the record stays out of future loads.

4. Who we share it with

Customers we approve receive contact records as described in section 3. Customers’ own data goes to service providers that help us run the Service (such as Google Cloud, Firebase and our email and payment providers); our affiliates; the organization that manages your account, if any; authorities and others when the law requires it or to protect our rights and users; and a buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized. We may share aggregated or de-identified information freely.

5. Where and how long

We are based in the United States and process data there. Where required, transfers from the EU, UK or Switzerland use standard safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We keep data as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete or de-identify it, except what we must keep for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or dispute reasons.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials and access controls on contact data. No system is perfectly secure.

7. Your rights

You can revoke keys and disconnect apps from the dashboard at any time. Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights over your personal data, whether you are a customer or a person in the index. These include the laws of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other U.S. states, the EU and EEA (GDPR), the UK, Switzerland, Canada, Brazil, Australia, India and other countries. Those rights can include:

• knowing what personal data we hold about you and getting a copy;
• correcting or deleting it;
• objecting to or restricting some uses, and withdrawing consent where we rely on it;
• opting out of the sale or sharing of personal data, targeted advertising or profiling;
• appealing our answer to your request, and complaining to your local data protection authority.

To use a right, email ashwin@arihaan.ai (customers: from your account address). We may need to verify who you are, and we will answer within the time your law requires. You may use an authorized agent where your law allows. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, we process data to provide the Service, for our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving it and in providing business contact information, to meet legal duties, or with consent. The Service is not for anyone under 18, and the index is not meant to hold records about minors.

8. Changes

We may update this policy at any time by posting a new version here. If the changes are significant, we will tell account holders. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the update.

9. Enforcement, disputes and retention

If we investigate fraud, abuse, misuse of contact data, a terms breach, a payment dispute or a legal claim, we may keep relevant account, request, billing and Usage Data longer than usual and share it with advisers, payment processors, platforms whose apps connect to the Service, affected people and authorities where the law allows or we believe disclosure is necessary to protect us, our users or others.
