Prompting tips

Models do well with Arihaan People when you say who, where and how many.

Good prompts#

  • “Find VPs of Sales at software companies in Texas. Count them first, then show 10.”
  • “Which 10 companies employ the most CTOs in the UK banking industry?” (uses group_by)
  • “Directors of Marketing at companies with 100 to 499 people in Colorado who have a phone number.”

Habits that help#

  • Always give a place. Most of the data is in the US, so a search without a country or state returns a lot.
  • Count first. It tells the model whether the search is too broad before it pages through results.
  • Use level for decision makers. Owner / Founder, C-suite, VP and Director / Head are cleaner than guessing title words.
  • Exclude noise. title_exclude and exclude_company remove assistants, interns and your own competitors.
Not available as filters
Funding stage (Series B and so on) is not a filter. Use company size and industry as a proxy.
